La edición número 66 de los Emmy, los premios televisivos más mediáticos de la televisión internacional, ya ha hecho pública su lista de candidatos. Mindy Kaling y Carson Daly se subieron al escenario del teatro Leonard H. Goldenson el pasado 10 de julio para anunciar los nominados a los premios Emmy 2014.
Entre los favoritos se encuentra la saga de fantasía ‘Juego de Tronos’, que ha sido nominada en 19 categorías incluyendo la de mejor serie dramática. Le siguen ‘Fargo’ y ‘American Horror Story’ con 18 y 17 nominaciones respectivamente.
HBO se alza como el canal con más producciones con 99 apariciones, seguido por CBS con 47 y NBC con 46. Sin embargo, las ficciones online han arrebatado nominaciones a series de éxito de las grandes cadenas. Un ejemplo de ello es Netflix con 31 candidaturas, más del doble que el año pasado.
‘Modern Family’ podría alcanzar un récord si ganase este año el premio a mejor comedia, ya que se trata de su quinta nominación. En caso de conseguirlo igualaría a Frasier, que entre 1994 y 1998 ganó cinco veces consecutivas el galardón. También batiría un record Jim Parsons, protagonista de ‘The Big Bang Theory’. En caso de ganar sería su cuarto Emmy consecutivo a mejor actor de comedia y alcanzaría los galardones obtenidos por Michael J. Fox (‘Family Ties’, ‘Spin City’), Kelsey Grammer (‘Frasier’), y Carroll O’Connor (‘All in the Family’).
Como novedad, en esta edición las TV movies y las miniseries serán premiadas en categorías diferentes, algo que no afecta a los premios relacionados con ellas como por Mejor Actor o Mejor Actriz de miniserie o TV movie.
